#GoodNews: Police Sgt.'s New Friendship Becomes Helpful Road Trip

Sergeant Jeff Turney of the Glendale, Arizona police department got a call from the children of Howard Benson. Howard is 94 and was planning on moving to an assisted living facility in Florida. His kids live out of town and said Howard was going to drive his vehicle and a trailer full of his stuff across the country on his own. They were worried about him making the trip alone and were trying to talk him into flying.

Officer Turney paid a visit to Howard and realized the man’s mind was made up. He started coming by after work and packing up the trailer for Howard. Then he told Howard that he was going to drive him to Florida himself. Turney used vacation time to make the 2,200 mile, 4-day trip.
