Sabrina Carpenter made quite an impression during a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The "Please Please Please" singer teamed up with SNL host Quinta Brunson on May 3 for an unexpected duet during the Abbott Elementary star's opening monologue, per People. Brunson, who stands less than 5 feet tall, made quips about being short and gave funny yet inspirational advice like how she's "proof you can do anything you put your mind to, even if people look down on you — whether it's because of where you come from or literally because you're only 4'11".
She even burst into a song about her height, dedicating it to the "shorties" out there to let them know "the sky's the limit."
As she shouted out other famous "shorties" like Kendrick Lamar and Simone Biles, Carpenter popped in to add her own "Short 'n Sweet" twist, joking, "You were talking about being short so I thought I'd stop by." The duo continued to bond over their shared experiences, noting that short ribs are regular size for them and that short stories "feel like novels."
The tune also featured a couple more surprise guests. SNL cast member Marcello Hernandez decided to stop by because at 5'8", he felt "super tall" standing next to Brunson and Carpenter. Former NBA star Dwayne Wade then hilariously butted in with how he also "really [loves] being short" while the "Espresso" hitmaker gazed up at his tall stature in wonder and confusion. When Brunson noted that he is 6'4", Wade said that is like being 4'10" in "basketball world."
"It's how we like our movies, and how we like our margins," they sang as a group. "We've been the same height since kindergarten. Life is just more fun when you're fun size."
